Thank you for scanning. This short film brings together voices from schools, universities and the education sector on one question: what do educators need to prepare every child for a world shaped by AI?
Why this matters
Just 18% of teachers in England have received structured AI training (Royal Society, Teacher Tapp survey, March 2026).
The UK’s digital skills gap costs the economy an estimated Ā£63 billion a year (House of Commons Library).
Teachers are the gatekeepers to every child’s education. If they aren’t supported, AI literacy won’t reach the classroom, and the children who stand to lose most are those already on the wrong side of the digital divide.
What we're building
The Dynamic Resourcing⢠Platform
Professional learning for primary teachers in AI literacy, computing, programming and digital safety. The platform guides teachers through the school year, and its materials are continuously updated so they keep pace with the technology. It is funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority and launches in Easter 2027.
Yorkshire's Digital and AI Champions
A 12 month Level 3 apprenticeship for school leaders, teachers and support staff, delivered with Primary Goal and mapped to the OECD AI Literacy Framework. Participants have a dedicated mentor, in-person school visits and gain a nationally recognised qualification. The next cohort begins in November 2026.
AI for Careers
A 4 day training course for young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) and adults who are economically inactive including coaching to enter the digital workforce.
Funded by DWP’s Get Britain Working Trailblazer, via York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority
